The funny thing about people pronouncing "Hove actually" is that they usually pronounce "Hove" in a Received Pronunciation accent to rhyme with "mauve".

However the local pronunciation is like "Hoove", to rhyme with "move" - but very few people say this.

My point is the irony of people proudly declaring that Hove is separate to Brighton - they are not even true locals, but came from London and other areas (Myself, I lived in Hove - as an outsider - for a few years).

Of course Hove and Brighton were both separate places - and of course still are even if their town centres both join!

If anything, a true Hove born-and-bred local should respond to "Do you live in Hove?" with "Hoove actually!".

So there I was, sat reading about the termination of Hove Actually - which I frequented from time to time & then just mixed in with it are the words "I'm getting married". Kath - big, big congratulations! So many questions - who to? how did you meet? what are you up to now? etc
Big big congratulations & sad to see the end of this chapter of blogging, but looking forward to whatever the future may hold!

I think that the buddhists have got this one right (although living in the moment without the source of living water is hardly getting it right!), and we could
certainly learn something from them on this.

As strange as it sounds, I tend to try and treat each chapter as precisely that: another part of the grand narrative that the king had written. Look for the character plot points and be part of he unwitting movement towards the climax. Like Ruth and co.

Yes. Exactly. Exactly.
I just found this post randomly via google, it made me cry (at work!) Where I'm at just now, and where I keep on finding myself. He never lets us go does he? Thank God for grace.

Yay. There is someone called 'Chris' who knows more than the Almighty...

...but what does 'Chris' have to offer apart from anonymous griping?

...for 'Chris': may something of this blog post burst open the cave that defines your perspectives.

...for Hove Actually: nice one.
